MARINE LAYER
MicroModal, found in our signature fabric, is made from recycled beechwood. The pulp production is self-sufficient, which makes our tees sustainable, eco-friendly, and so. so. soft.
When we say our stuff is soft, we really mean it. It's not like "oh, this feels nice" soft. It's "holy sh#% how did they make this I'm never taking it off" soft.
Beechwood pulp is spun into our custom fiber, which is the foundation of all of our yarns. We’ve created over 25 custom fabrics (and counting) using this method, so we’re not kidding when we say our clothes are one-of-a-kind.
Most of our stuff comes from SF or LA, where some of the best knits in the world are made. For some of the more technical styles, we turn to sewers overseas that work in the same ethical and sustainable factories we’d use here.
ANATOMIE
Kate and Shawn Boyer founded Anatomie in 2006 after years in the activewear business. Budapest-born Kate got a MBA in International Trade in France, while working as a girls’ gymnastics coach and dressing the team in outfits she designed herself. From there, the self-taught designer developed private label collections for many exclusive resorts in St. Barth. She met her husband Shawn in Miami, where the Ohio native was designing customized clothing for hard-to-fit athletic men. The two joined forces to design sportswear for brands such as Elite Models, Cigarette Boats, Lamborghini and Nikki Beach clubs. With Kate as CEO and Shawn as Creative Director, they launched Anatomie, a name that speaks to the impeccable fit and sleek tailoring of the brand’s designs.
